It’s always nice when a non-Canadian speaks glowingly of our country — not in platitudes or stereotypes (it’s so clean and the people are so nice up there!) — but with genuine admiration. That happened last week when I was chatting with Joel Dahmen, a Clarkston, Wash., golfer and last year’s PGA Tour Canada Order of Merit champion. As an aside, and for personal interest, I asked him what his favourite tournaments/cities in Canada were during his four years playing north of the border. Here’s what he said (and I should note he chuckled referencing his Saskatoon memories): “I really love Victoria and I think everyone in the world would if they went there. It’s hard to beat that.
