Dwight Gayle, Danny Gabbidon and Stuart O'Keefe grabbed their first Premier League goals as Crystal Palace opened their points account with a 3-1 win over Sunderland. It took just nine minutes for the deadlock to be broken at Selhurst Park, with some questionable defending from a set-piece allowing Palace to bundle themselves in front. Best of the match Man of the match: Danny Gabbidon. Did not know too much about his goal, but put Palace on their way and was a rock at the heart of their back four. Goal of the match: Stuart O'Keefe produced a stunning finish to round off proceedings, crashing home off the underneath of the crossbar after the ball broke his way.
