Get to know Texas alum Beau Hossler

When Beau Hossler emerged onto the golfing scene, he was wearing braces and had a doughy frame. He was 17, and just coming into his own. But Hossler was far from a normal teenager, in fact, he was a bit of a golf prodigy. Hossler qualified for the U.S. Open as both a 16-year-old and 17-year-old (in 2011 and 2012) and ended up finishing tied for 29th at The Olympic Club in 2012, holding the solo lead for a brief moment during the second round. Although he didn’t capture low amateur honors that week – it would go to a baby-faced Jordan Spieth (more on him later) – he captured the hearts of many who tuned in that week to see Hossler’s big grin, bigger swing, and casual saunter. Now, five years later, Hossler has lost the braces, spent four years at the University of Texas, and is embarking on a professional career.
