While more and more players continue to dismiss the Olympics this summer one player seems to be growing more and more excited by the day to play in Rio. Germany’s Martin Kaymer said he remains committed to playing in Brazil this summer, and he is actually happy the world’s top players are choosing to sit out golf’s return to the Olympics. “In a selfish way, I’m happy that they pulled out, it’s less competition. But in the bigger picture, if you think about golf, there were a lot of people that were working so hard to get golf into the Olympic Games, from all different countries, and now the best players of their countries, they all pull out,” Kaymer said. “Now I read this morning that Jordan Spieth is thinking about if it’s worth it to go; that was the headline.
