Then heroics on 18. Cristobal Del Solar (T-50, 6 over) stuck his second shot to a few inches for an easy birdie. Freshman Corey Carlson (T-75, 9 over) went long but then played a beautiful chip that barely trundled down a slope, and crept within a few feet of the hole for a must-make par. And it appeared Lee, who finished T-30 at 4 over, would add one more, until his putt to move the team on missed. (The birdie would have put the Seminoles in a five-way tie for 14th at 27 over. Florida State would have finished second in the tiebreaker among the group to earn the 15th and final spot.)
