ClubTest 2016: @ClevelandGolf 588 X 2.0 Wedges ($130) - Full Review:
One of the best -- the sleek blade lives up to the 588 standard; the black and satin finishes look great; exotic face-milling pattern can spin it; the cavity-back (“CB”) version sets up like the blade from above. FEEL: Offers good, medium balance -- heavy enough to dig the ball out but light enough to make adjustments on the fly; impact is crisp and clean; the CB presses mute on misses, while the blade reports feedback with a delicate touch. DISTANCE CONTROL: High marks -- optimum spin opens up options; you can punch it in with zip or float one up with next to none; the CB saves testers a few yards off the heel and toe. PLAYABILITY: Gives the green light greenside -- both models can do it all; no problem clipping it clean or opening the face to deploy the bounce; easy to adjust ball flight, even out of sand.
