Ben Kohles was supposed to be on family vacation this week in North Carolina’s Outer Banks. He’s in Omaha, Neb., instead. The scenery may not be as nice, but he couldn’t ask for a better situation. Kohles, 22, won last week’s Nationwide Children’s Hospital Invitational, becoming the first person to win a Web.com Tour event in his pro debut. He has earned $144,000 in one week on the job, and, at No. 13 on the tour’s money list, is in good position to be among the 25 Web.com Tour players to earn PGA Tour playing privileges for next season. Kohles, fully exempt on the Web.com Tour by virtue of his victory, is competing in this week’s Cox Classic. Kohles’ victory was impressive for its quickness. He has accomplished a lot in a brief career, though. He didn’t start playing golf regularly until he was about 13 years old, and didn’t start competing in tournaments until he was 15....
