Notes: Wichita Open honors Klauk with awareness day

JEFF KLAUK-INSPIRED EPILEPSY AWARENESS DAY -- Friday (June 22nd) will be "Epilepsy Awareness Day" in Wichita. The influence to do this comes from Jeff Klauk 's personal dealings with epilepsy. Jeff is a very popular past champion in Wichita (2003). Tournament officials have elected to promote epilepsy awareness in support of Jeff. Over the winter, Jeff had epilepsy brain surgery as he fights to get back on TOUR. Purple ribbons will be distributed to players, caddies, staff, sponsors and spectators on the 22nd, with all encouraged to wear purple. "Wichita holds a special place in my heart," Klauk said. "The fact they are dedicating a day to epilepsy awareness is exciting and humbling. I'm making good progress in my battle with epilepsy and am looking forward to resuming my playing career soon."
