Inspirational. Watch a woman with ALS drain a 78-foot putt on live TV:
Last week's first annual Worthington Fore ALS Golf Classic at the Worthington Country Club in southwest Florida was a noteworthy enough event all on its own, but Madeline Kennedy went and kicked it up a notch. Kennedy was being interviewed live by WINK about the great impact that fundraisers like the tournament could have on research for the disease, and then she stepped up to the plate and hammered home her point by draining a 78-foot putt. Not bad for a woman who lost her ability to walk since being diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) more than two years ago. Kennedy, who was an avid golfer and tennis player before the diagnosis, still plays golf with help from an adaptive cart , and clearly hasn't lost her touch on the greens.
