Starter’s Shack—Humourous. Sincere. Humble. We lost a good one yesterday when Dick Grimm passed in Toronto at 91-years-old. I had really only known Mr. Grimm personally for a few years, but considered him a friend. Others like Lorne Rubenstein , Bob Weeks and Rick Young went way back with the man and he was most definitely a friend to them as well. Mr. Grimm was a friend to a lot of us in Canadian golf. Back in December of 2011 Mr. Grimm opened his doors and invited myself and Adam LeBrun into his Toronto home. On that cold, sunny Friday afternoon we sat in Mr. Grimm’s living room and intently listened as he told stories in a manner in which only he can tell them—humourously, sincerely and humbly. Humourous. Sincere. Humble. That’s the friend I’ll remember and what I’ll miss most about him. I’ve embedded a bunch of video clips from our afternoon chat below for you to enjoy...
