So how do you hit out confidently? Four-time major champion Phil Mickleson has great feel in the sand, so who better to show us a simple technique for getting out the fairway trap. If you don't have time to watch the clip, below is Mickleson's top tip... Shallower swing path: It's always tempting to try and dig the ball out with a steep swing. Phil suggests having a shallower swing and firm wrists will allow you to flick the ball off the top of the sand so it doesn't sink at impact. Want more tips?
